XD BEEFS UP REGIONAL PRESENCE
THE
ACTION, ADVENTURE AND COMEDY DESTINATION WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE IN SIX LANGUAGES
After garnering leadership
status in the South, Disney XD, the quintessential action, adventure and comedy
destination for boys is ready to capture attention of newer markets with the
launch two new language feeds. Starting January 26, 2012, viewers from across
the country will enjoy episodes of their favourite shows Phineas and Ferb, Ryukendo and Kick Buttowski in
their preferred language only on Disney
XD from Monday to Friday between 6 pm - 8 pm. With this launch, the
channel will now be available in an unprecedented six languages – English,
Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil and Telugu.

GM, Walt Disney Television International India, said, "Disney XD speaks to boys 6-14, while including
girls, and delivers exciting stories around adventure, action, comedy
while reflecting core Disney brand values of accomplishment, and heroism.
Disney XD has a unique content mix of
live-action and animated programming hyper-targeting boys and their quest for
discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. We are excited about
expanding its reach by making it the first channel in the genre to be available
in 6 languages. We are very proud of its success and will continue to build on
it as we deliver great fun-filled, action-packed entertainment that is engaging
and locally relevant.”
The
AWESOME content will include episodes of popular action adventure show
“Ryukendo”, “Phineas and Ferb” which features two
stepbrothers and their beyond-the-impossible adventures in their backyard and the Suburban
Daredevil “Kick Buttowski”.

and following from boys driven by Disney original animation shows such as Kick
Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil and Marvel, the quintessential boy brand. These
are wonderful examples of Disney’s on-going focus on creating great new
properties with clearly defined character profiles and story patterns to position the channel as top of mind for boys,”
she adds.
Kick Buttowski is an
extraordinary kid living in the world's most ordinary town. He rebels
against the mundane and strives to make every moment just a little more
awesome. Determined to become the world's greatest daredevil, Kick knows
that when life throws him an obstacle, his only choice is to jump it!
Step-brothers, Phineas and Ferb take their
dreams to extremes by building a gigantic roller coaster in their backyard,
among other escapades. They always end up cramping the style of their teenage
sister, Candice, who attempts to rat them out to their mom, only she's somehow
left with no evidence to bust her brothers. Meanwhile, the family's
simple-minded pet platypus, Perry, leads a double life as a secret agent and faces
off with the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz in each episode.
