RAVE REVIEWS!
“a creepy, spine-chilling date movie… Ragini MMS amalgamates components of horror, paranormal and sex seamlessly. It titillates, it petrifies, but most importantly, it tells you a story which is daunting, imaginative and unconventional.” – Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama.com
“a damn scary film!” – Naresh Deoshi, Apunka Choice.com
Ekta Kapoor's new film is terrifyingly real, and immensely watchable for the cold fright it inspires.” - Ankur Pathak, Rediff.com
a heady cocktail of sex and horror…” – Nikhat Kazmi, Times of India
some scenes were so scary, that I actually wanted to run out of the theatre!” – Shubha Shetty-Saha, Mid-day

A sensual paranormal thriller based on the real life experience of a girl from Delhi, the film is about an MMS that captures things beyond the realm of human understanding. Released on a Friday the 13th May 2011, “Ragini MMS” delivered a real scare to the audience and was a hit at the box-office recovering its costs within two days of its release!

The movie was also in the news for giving the ultimate seducing tune of all times a new meaning. The romantic hit, originally picturised on Dev Anand and Tanuja, from the blockbuster Jewel Thief is rendered passionately by Asha Bhosle.

The film also follows a very different shooting style and is shot as if in real time! The camera constantly plays the “peeping tom”, a device that serves well to sleaze as well as horror. The low-lit, often handheld camera adds realistic flavour to the declared “inspired from real events” drama.

We follow a quintessential couple, Ragini (Kainaz Motivala) and Uday (Raj Kumar Yadav), as they set out to have a dirty weekend at a friend's farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai. The weekend getaway quickly changes gears as unknown to Ragini, the house is rigged with hidden cameras. Meanwhile, Uday gets busy recording his and Ragini’s movements on his camcorder. Ignoring some initial scares, they settle down to have some fun but are soon interrupted by their friends, Pia (Janice) and Vishal (Rajat), who are en-route to Matheran. The foursome chill together, but Vishal gets upset when he finds that Uday is not pleased with their presence, and they quickly depart.

Finally, alone, the two get more intimate but are interrupted again by something that is not of this world. The only witnesses to the paranormal activity are the hidden cameras that were meant to capture their lovemaking. Within the confines of the house, Ragini and Uday are now at the mercy of an unexplainable supernatural force, a malevolent and vengeful speaking entity. With sundown approaching, what will the new entrants of the house do?

Produced by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms through her motion picture production unit ALT Entertainment and helmed by debutant director Pawan Kripalani, horror thriller, Ragini MMS, scares a lot and keeps audience glued to their seats. The opening credits play on Tulsidas’s Hanuman Chalisa, the forty line verse praising Lord Hanuman who is believed to be capable of warding off evil spirits.

Ragini MMS, touted as the scariest date movie, was among the most keenly appreciated film of the season and is now all set to scare viewers right in their homes when it makes its World Television Premiere on Sahara One on Saturday, December 24 at 10 p.m with a repeat at 12 midnight!

Cast - Kainaz Motivala, Raj Kumar Yadav, Rajat, Janice, and Mangala Ahire.
