Kanpur: BIG MAGIC, the No 1 channel in the Hindi heartland, keeps up to its promise by bringing programs that will resonate and connect instantly with the region. In its endeavor to bring each city in the region close to its people BIG MAGIC introduces a new segment every weekend whereby they will bring  BIG Mahotsav , a show that will showcase any big  festival or event  happening in the city, for example the Taj Mahotsav in Agra or Kanpur Mahotsav…and other upcoming city-based events in the region.

Beginning  with the  recently concluded 10-day mega Kanpur Mahotsav, BIG MAGIC will bring  to the viewers, in a special weekend telecast, on December 24^th  & 25^th from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the Mega Mahotsav in all its glory. Organized by the district administration and in its second year, the Kanpur Mahotsav, was one of the biggest festivities held in city by far. The Mahotsav, celebrated the Spirit of the city thus giving the people of Kanpur an opportunity to connect with their culture and heritage. With a tag line…Taleem, Tarrakki or Tahzeeb ka Bemisaal Shehar…the Mahotsav  flagged off  different competitions like painting, drawing, mehandi art, clay modeling,  singing, dancing…  in addition each night was  devoted to  special performance by a celebrity ranging from Bollywood to folk dance to mushaiyra & classical singing .

Food, fashion, music, dance, arts & crafts, celebrities…the carnival had everything for everyone in the city. Shopping for clothes, jewelry, food stalls to great discounts on big buys, had the people of this city simply asking for more…dil maange more!

The celebrities who made the Bollywood Night were Shreya Ghoshal; Comedy by Raju Srivastava & Anirudh Madhesia; brilliant performance by Rekha Bharadwaj; nautanki by Madhu Agrawal; Ghazal night by Ustaad Ahmad Hussain & the unveiling of an album – ‘Intisaab…’ sung by the District Magistrate, Dr.HariOm. While Raju Srivastava and Anirudh Madhesia had the visitors at the Mahotsov in splits, it was the scintillating performances of school students that left the audience completely mesmerized The audiences were awestruck by the student’s clay modelling and quawwali performances at the annual festival.

The Mahotsav, with its first of its kind initiative, showcases the city’s culture & heritage through its youth power. What was even more touching and memorable was a day dedicated to the kids with special talent.

As the official radio partner 92.7 BIG FM initiated an entertainment program for the people of Kanpur. RJ Sid played a one minute game at Phool Bagh called Kanpur Ka Superstar where the winners were gratified with bumper prizes. BIG MAGIC is the telecast partner
