ACC Jamul organizes massive tree plantation drive

Jamul: Since its inception ACC Limited has been known for its role in conserving the environment. The call of Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh to all industries of the state to partner the government in carrying out massive tree plantation, especially all along the major roads of the state gave a boost to ACC’s green efforts.

ACC’s Jamul Cement Works is already in the forefront of community development activities, this time carried out a massive tree plantation drive all along the Road Nandini- Pathariya, a stretch of about 22 km. ACC officials planted the saplings after fencing of the area on both side of the road and then fenced these saplings to ensure protection.  

This massive tree plantation drive was inaugurated by Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, Collector – Durg. While inaugurating the program she appreciated the efforts being made by ACC Jamul in furthering the Chief Minister’s directive and called upon other industries in the area to emulate ACC in implementing CSR activities successfully.

The highly enthusiastic Gopika Tiwari, Director Plant – ACC Limited a leader with a green thumb, assured the collector that ACC’s endeavour will be to ensure 100% survival of the saplings planted.

Mr. Tiwari also informed the collector about the efforts made by the Ladies Club in Jamul to conserve the environment. The ladies Club had already distributed 2500 fruit bearing tree sapling to all the girl students in the schools of the area.
