IIMK to impart leadership program for the Kerala Government

Bangalore: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) will be imparting smart governance workshops for the newly sworn in ministers of the Government of Kerala, as announced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Oommen Chandy. The objective is to achieve increased productivity and efficiency by sharpening the governance skills, goal based planning and result oriented working strategies of the ministers and their respective departments. The workshop focus will be on effective leadership, good governance and instant delivery mechanism ensuring the timely reach of the Government’s Programmes and benefits to the target audience.
Given its niche positioning, IIMK has again proved to be a thought leader by sustaining its diversity of student profiles. The academic batch of year 2011-2013 will include 33% women as compared to 30% of last year. IIMK has been the trendsetter for business schools in the country with its consistent gender diversity drive, which is now emulated by others. The fact that there is significant representation from the lower income groups in the socio-economic profile of the parents of the incoming students speaks for the social diversity the Institute is able to achieve.
On this occasion, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIMK has expressed that he is grateful to be invited by the Government of Kerala to deliver this leadership program. As a pioneer in ‘Leadership Training’, IIMK is confident that this workshop will enhance the governance skills of our leaders, imparting Kerala with the ability to set a global footprint in the sector of economic development.  This truly iterates IIMK’s positioning as a Leader in management education.
With over two decades of research and experiential understanding of transformational leadership, Prof Debashis Chatterjee delivers workshops which focus on going beyond conventional thinking for generating breakthrough ideas and actionable strategies. IIMK is an ‘aspirational’ institute which offers knowledge from beyond books and from associations with all genres of people. This has allowed IIMK to develop leadership styles which are revolutionary and global in nature. It is this quality of the Institute that draws diversity in the classroom and set IIMK apart from existing leading B schools in the country.
With this vision, IIMK has played host to several leadership workshops which address topics related to schools, colleges, corporates, NGO’s and now the Government.
