The Bal Kalakaars touched the feet
of all three gurus before they took the stage for their GALA performance. The
first performance on BBK GALAS was by Rajat Sharma from Bhopal – who sang a
ganesh vandana – ek dantaya vakratundaya… The ambience inside Lucknow Ganna
Sangstha auditorium turned into that of a temple. Rajesh Dubey explained the
meaning of the bhajan and narrated an interesting story about why the Hindu
elephant- headed God is called ‘ekdantaya’. This was followed by Sarthak
Kalyani’s performance, from Indore – tere pujan ko bhagwan bana hai mandir
aalishaan… Rajesh explained how an analogy is drawn between a temple and
the heart – in this bhajan. Four more performances followed: nayanshi, misquat,
pankaj and prateeksha. All 3 gurujan appreciated the kids, their talent and
most importantly their loyalty towards Indian culture and traditions.
The next episode on Sunday opens
with rendering of a bhajan by Rajan Sajan Mishra. Children, anchors all were
overwhelmed at the impact of a live rendition by the two legends of Indian
classical music. As episode moved forward rest of the BBK finalists performed
one by one. The last performance being that of Kiran Pathak who sings a very
popular bhajan – vaishnava jan ko.
