Mumbai: Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., a part of the US $12.5 billion Mahindra Group today announced that its Maxximo Mini Van had garnered a 26%* market share in the minivan segment within six months of its launch. Maxximo Minivan made its foray into the minivan segment with its launch in April 2011 following the success of the Maxximo, India’s first mini truck with CRDe technology.
In addition, the Maxximo MiniVan has been clocking impressive volumes month-on-month ever since its launch and has set a new benchmark in sales during September 2011 by achieving a 35%* market share vis-a-vis its nearest competition.
Speaking on this achievement, Mr. Vivek Nayer, Senior Vice President - Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said “The Maxximo Mini Van has successfully delivered on its promise of being a game-changer by offering class-leading space, comfort, safety, power and mileage. The Mini Van’s superior value proposition has seen it find acceptance in multiple segments. Prospects in the entry-level contract carriage segment find favour with the Mini Van on account of its powerful and economical diesel engine coupled with its “van” properties. Another segment where the Mini Van has shown much promise is the stage carriage segment. Prospects in this segment appreciate the Mini Van for its wide-body, comfortable seats and rigid monocoque body. The Mini Van has also found acceptance as a vehicle to ferry school-children, by tour & travel operators that operate on limited distance routes and is also bought by business enterprises for the purpose of transporting their staff.
