Starting this weekend, Saturday & Sunday, October 29th & 30th, at 2.30pm, BIG MAGIC will showcase movies that are all time favorites and can be watched over and over again. SAHARA FORCE INDIA ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE
ONE FROM A BILLION HUNT


Delhi: Sahara Force India Formula One Team and Mobil 1, today announced the winners of the Sahara Force India Formula One Team Academy’s One From A Billion Hunt. After hosting the regional rounds of the One From A Billion Hunt spanning seven    cities, the Sahara Force India Formula One Team Academy has finally chosen the three winners from thousands of applicants during the final round of the Hunt recently held at Silverstone.
Arjun Maini (14 yrs. old) from Bangalore was chosen as the winner of the Sahara Force India Formula One Team Academy’s One From A Billion Hunt. The first runner up was Tarun Reddy (14 yrs.) from Chennai with the second runner up being Jehan Daruvala (13 yrs.) from Mumbai. While Arjun Maini and Tarun Reddy qualified from the Bangalore and Chennai regional rounds of the One From A Billion Hunt, Jehan Daruvala qualified through the Wild Card Entry Round that was held in Hyderabad. 
At the end of the intensive hands-on week, an expert panel consisting of Robert Fernley, Deputy Team Principal – Sahara Force India Formula One, Eddie Jordan, F1 Expert and Commentator - BBC, Anthony Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg, Test and reserve driver – Sahara Force India Formula One Team, evaluated and picked the three winners on the basis of a holistic assessment of their multiple capabilities and proficiency in requisite areas.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Vijay Mallya, Team Principal and Managing Director, Sahara Force India Formula One Team said, We have discovered three extremely talented participants during the Silverstone finals of the ‘One From A Billion hunt’. We are delighted with the response the program has received till now and we wish the winners all the very best. Through the Sahara Force India Formula One Team Academy, we look forward to help nurture and groom this young talent while providing them with the necessary skills required to be  future Formula 1 drivers for the Sahara Force India Formula 1 Team.
The winners were chosen from the ten national finalists selected during the National Finals held in Goa. The ten finalists went on to do a week-long intensive stint at Silverstone, UK comprising sessions of driver tuition on Dmax Karts, a day at the Porsche Human Performance Centre to assess and develop fitness for motorsports and media training with Goodman Media. The ten selected drivers completed their Silverstone experience with a race in Senior Dmax karts at the Daytona Kart Circuit, Milton Keynes.
Speaking at the occasion, Eric Carmichael, Asia Pacific Marketing Manager, ExxonMobil Lubricants said: “We are delighted at the outstanding response that the “One from a Billion Hunt” has received from the karting enthusiasts across India. I would like to thank Dr. Vijay Mallya for the opportunity to work together in popularizing motorsports in India through this unique hunt and we look forward to continuing this into the future. I would like to wish the 3 young finalists of this program every success as they set out to break new ground and inspire other youngsters to join the sport. For, the day may not be far before we see an Indian driver on the podium in a Formula 1 circuit.”
“The top three were very close in the race for the championship and I have decided that all three would be sent to Europe for a comprehensive Driver Development Programme. The decision to be taken in consultation with their parents will ensure their education, lodging and training by Sahara Force India.” added Dr. Mallya.
Arjun Maini, Tarun Reddy and Jehan Daravala, will receive a fully funded European based driver development programme preparing them to become Formula One drivers. They will commence their journey to becoming a Formula 1 driver with a go-karting programme in Europe. They will then advance to appropriate single seater formula series before progressing to GP3 and GP2 and then F1.

Mumbai: Starting Nov 5th, SAB TV will add fresh comedy entertainment to your Saturday evenings with the launch of SAB Ka evening show that will feature a one and half hours Mahaepisode of a new family comedy every Saturday from 9pm onwards.

With this unique programming initiative the channel promises to offer a new story every week that has fresh, innovative and entertaining storyline and has varied flavours of comedy i.e. romantic comedy, family comedy, satire, comedy thriller etc with fresh cast. The shows will be produced & directed by renowned names in the industry like Ravi Rai,Siddharth Tewary,Vipul .D. Shah ,JD Majethia,Rajesh Beri and will feature prominent actors.

SAB Ka Evening’s first show titled Oye Bunty Babloo Oye will be directed by ace director Ravi Rai and produced by Vipul.D.Shah from Optimystix.Starring Nitesh Pandey and Gaurav Gera the story revolves around two small town innocent souls Bunty & Babloo who with their inherited values, selfless and lively nature rekindle the lifeless hearts of the so called modern heartless souls of Mumbai.


Kya Hoga Is Desh Ka is a slice of life comedy that revolves around prime character Desh, a compulsive social worker who in an attempt to help solve the problems of a young man puts his personal and professional life into chaos thus creating hilarious situations. But it all ends with everything getting resolved leaving all happy and content. This story is being produced by Siddharth Tewary from Swastik Pictures and directed by Rajan Wagdhare and will be aired on 12th ,November.

Produced by Rajesh Beri another light hearted evening show Gaadi Bula Rahi Hai is story of two families from different backgrounds travelling with one another in Indian railways. It has a stellar cast of Ranjeet, Rakesh Bedi, Shweta Kwatra, Varun Badola, Amita Nangia and Arupa Bose and will premiere on 19th November.

JD Majethia from Hats Off productions will be producing another Saturday evening show for SAB TV.

Just as Ekta Kapoor’s Ragini MMS was about to be premiered on television, it has got into trouble with the censors.

Any film that needs to be telecast on television should have an U/A certificate. As Ragini MMS as released in the theatres with an A certificate for Adult viewing only, the film needed to be censored again for television.

The censors are objecting to certain scenes. However, as these scenes are integral to the film, the producers are fighting against these cuts which would affect the basic flow of the film. In fact, it has been learnt that Ekta Kapoor is personally fronting the issue with the censors. Recently, two films almost in a similar genre, Haunted and Murder 2 were given U/A, and also premiered on television.

Sources indicate that there is immense interest from the advertisers for advertising during the film, given its superhit status and the huge buzz that was present during the theatrical release, and therein the need to get the film censored early.

Readers will remember the many controversies during the theatrical release including a threat of legal action from 22 year old Delhi girl Deepika, the supposed real inspiration behind the story, and strong opposition from certain segments of the public. Despite these controversies the film, a paranormal supernatural thriller, went on to become a superhit at the box-office.

With this new round of controversy erupting, Ragini MMS once again promises to be a superhit on television, that is, if the censors permit!
